Welcome to Ballingham Court — A Family-Run Farm in the Heart of the Wye Valley

Set in the heart of the stunning Wye Valley, Ballingham Court is a working family farm with over a century of heritage. Spanning 175 hectares, the farm is run by Henry and Esther Rudge and their son Monty — the fifth generation to care for this land. With a thoughtful mix of traditional farming and modern sustainability, the farm is home to spring-calving cattle, a flock of ewes, orchards of apples and pears, and rich, wildlife-friendly habitats.
We raise Hereford beef for Waitrose, grow and press apples for juice, manage organic pears for veg box schemes, and offer kiln-dried firewood from our own managed woodland. Guests can also enjoy a peaceful countryside stay through our on-farm glamping site, Nature’s Nest, nestled beside the River Wye. Every part of life at Ballingham Court is rooted in care — for the animals, the environment, and the community we’re proud to be part of.
From Our Fields to Your Home
At Ballingham Court, we offer more than just farming — you can enjoy our hand-pressed apple juice, locally sourced firewood, or unwind with a stay in our peaceful glamping spot. Each of these is rooted in the farm’s landscape and run with the same care and sustainability as everything we do.
Natures Nest Glamping
For those looking to relax and reconnect with nature, our on-site glamping at Nature’s Nest offers a peaceful riverside escape in the heart of the Wye Valley.
Apple Juice
Made from hand-picked Jonagold apples grown in our orchard, Ballingham Court’s apple juice is freshly pressed on the farm and full of crisp, natural flavour.
Firewood
Our firewood is sustainably sourced from the farm’s managed woodland, kiln-dried on site, and sold locally for clean, reliable burning all year round.

About Us
Ballingham Court is owned and run by the Rudge family in south Herefordshire, where we have beef cattle and sheep and grow combinable crops, forage maize, apples and pears. We also produce renewable energy and manage our woodland to sell kiln dried firewood.
Farm Visits
Ballingham Court welcomes school visits to experience life on a working, family-run farm in the heart of the Wye Valley. From meeting the animals to learning about sustainable farming, pupils can see first-hand where food comes from and how the countryside is cared for. Visits can be tailored to suit different age groups and learning goals, offering a hands-on, memorable day outdoors. We love sharing our passion for farming and nature with the next generation!
